See Category:Flammable for a list of flammable blocks. Notably, Chests and locked chests will not burn. Other than fire, a permanent flame does not ignite gun powder and TNT.
A permanent flame is created on top of a Coal Block when a player punches it with a Flint and Steel.
The player can put out the permanent flame by punching it. It is also extinguished when a Coal Block below it is removed. Also, Water near a Permanent Flame extinguishes it. Other than the Fire, the Permanent Flame does not disappear automatically after some time has passed. Also, they do not emit a burning sound like basic flames do.
A permanent flame deals damage every second. Every 10 seconds, flammable items inside a permaent flame are destroyed.
