River Water is a non-renewable liquid block that can only placed by player by using a bucket (or in creative mode). Players can swim in river water which can be used for building elevators. Mobs and players can drown in it. If river water hits a lava source, the lava becomes obsidian, river water near flowing lava creates stone.
River Water is similar to Water in its properties, the main differences are that river water is a bit brighter than water and it has a flowing range of only up to 2 blocks, as opposed to 8 blocks.
River Water is not used in map generation and can currently only be obtained by /giveme
or in Creative Mode.
