A Brown Mushroom can be found on dirt with grass blocks in decidous forests and coniferous forests (→Biomes). They may also rarely appear on fallen Tree, Aspen Tree and Jungle Tree logs. Brown mushrooms will spread slowly over time on Dirt, Dirt with Grass, etc. and on “trunk” blocks (Tree, Jungle Tree, etc.) in darkness but they will eventually die off in direct sunlight.
They can be collected with bare hands. Brown mushrooms can be eaten to restore 
. To eat one, one needs to hold it in their hand then left click. They can be placed with right click, just like almost any other node.
