Blocks are the building blocks in Minetest. They have 16x16 textures and are seen by the player as one cubic meter. Blocks are also called Nodes in Minetest, which is relevant to Modding.
Naturally generated blocks
These blocks occur naturally in a generated map.

Manufactured blocks
These blocks are not found naturally; these must be crafted or collected by the player.
Grown blocks
These blocks are not found naturally. They have to be grown by the player.

Unused blocks
These blocks also exist in the vanilla Minetest game, but these don’t appear in usual gameplay. These blocks can only be obtained by unconventional means, for example, in creative mode or with the server command “/giveme
